Valerie Weiss
Dr. Valerie Weiss serves as the Medical Director at Broward PACE Program, where she is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with patients and families while improving their quality of life. Where did you grow up?
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela and lived there until age 16. I then completed high school in Weston.
What inspired you to work in senior healthcare?
I never intended to work in senior care. I worked previously for a full-scope family medicine practice that was acquired by a managed care organization and that is how I ended up working with seniors. What has kept me in this field is the relationships I have built with patients and families, and the satisfaction I get from improving their quality of life in every aspect possible.

I am honored by the trust patients and families place in me to be their health care provider.
What sports team(s) do you root for?
I married a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan at heart.

What are your favorite movies?
Interstellar, Avatar, and Remember the Titans

What is your favorite type of music or artist?
Soft rock, and Latin music
Where is your ideal vacation spot?
A place where the temperature does not go below 80 degrees, with tropical foliage, mountains, hiking trails and nice secluded beaches
What is your favorite hobby or pastime?
Pilates
What is one thing you cannot live without?
Good coffee
What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?
I love spending Friday nights doing Shabbat with my entire family. It marks the end of the work week and is a time to recenter and spend time with the people I love the most.
What is your favorite food or cuisine?
I like Peruvian and Japanese food, as well as good quality raw fish.
What is a fun fact about you?
I learned English in Venezuela by watching Friends and Dawson’s Creek TV shows.
